ENTRY #7: Fresh

The movie "fresh" takes us behind the scenes of people who are break use unconventional methods of Agriculture and food production. We meet three people:

Joel Saltain who uses Natural manure to grow his grass and no chemicals on his animals

Will Allen, who is turning industrial wasteland into farmland for his neighborhood.

And David Ball who stocks his store with produce from local farmers

The audience is the everyday consumer. The purpose of this movie is to inform the audience on how food is normally grown and to show heathier ways to grow food. This film matters because we can see that there are better ways to grow our food. Something that caught my attention in the film was hearing that some farmers sometimes use dead cows in cow feed which then causes mad cow syndrome. Mad cow syndrome is very deadly to cows and can be transmitted to humans in a different variant so hearing about it was interesting to me.

Americans should care about how the food is produced and how the livestock is reared because at the end of the day, the food ends up in our bodies and if there is mass contamination of the food produced on farms or diseased animals are sold, it will eventually end up in our bodies and could possibly create new diseases.

  1. Woah I love you pictures you used in your blog a lot! When I watched the film and they informed about how some farmers feed dead cows to their livestock made me sick, but also I wasn't very surprised to be honest. Nice work on your blog!
